The official account of Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey was hacked, with the hacker posting tweets, hostile tweets containing racial insults, and lewd words to the more than 4.21 million followers.

Twitter said in a tweet: It is aware that Jack’s account has been hacked, and they are investigating what happened. One tweet claimed that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler was innocent, while other tweets contained racist comments against African Americans and Jews. One tweet even claimed a bomb at Twitter headquarters.

After the tweet, which occurred at 18:30 pm, Twitter suspended the account and then deleted the tweets before returning the account to its previous state by republishing the previous tweets.

Jack Dorsey’s account hacking – not the first since OurMine hacked the account in July 2016 – led to a 1% drop in Twitter shares on the stock exchange in post-closing trading.

It was not immediately known how the account was compromised. However, the hacker sent tweets via Cloudhopper, a service Twitter bought in 2010 to improve SMS, suggesting that Dorsey’s account was hacked by a supported third-party app rather than the account password.
