Huawei announced at the conference “Huawei Connect 2019” its new strategy of computing, which is characterized by the launch of a unique computing server system, which was called the system ‘Atlas 900 computing’, which is the fastest set of training in artificial intelligence in the world today, and opens new horizons for various Areas of artificial intelligence, particularly in the fields of scientific research and commercial innovation.
“Computing is a huge market worth more than $ 2 trillion, so we will continue to invest based on our four-pronged strategy, including raising the bar for processor design standards, investing in multi-scenario processors, and setting clear business frameworks. In addition to building an open ecosystem.” said Ken Ho, Vice Chairman of Huawei.
Computing is evolving from a rule-based model to a statistical model that underlies machine learning. According to Huawei estimates, in the next five years, statistical computing will become the trend in computing, and artificial intelligence-based computing will account for 80 percent of the computing power used around the world.
To maintain its market leading position, Huawei has developed a strategy focused on four main themes :
1- Architecture innovation. Last year Huawei launched the Da Vinci architecture, an innovative processor architecture designed to provide a steady and abundant supply of affordable computing power. Huawei will continue to invest in basic research.
2- Investment in all-scenario processors. Huawei has a full lineup of processors: Kunpeng processors for general purpose computing, Ascend processors for AI, Kirin processors for smart devices, and Honghu processors for smart screens.
3- Clear business boundaries. Huawei won’t sell its processors directly. Instead, it will provide them to its customers in the form of cloud services, and to its partners in the form of components, prioritizing support for integrated solutions.
4- Building an open ecosystem. In the next five years, Huawei will invest another US$1.5 billion in its developer program. The aim is to expand the program to support five million developers and enable Huawei’s worldwide partners to develop the next generation of intelligent applications and solutions.
