Sony on Tuesday announced a reduction in the price of its PlayStation Now streaming service and added some games to the platform.
“PlayStation Now is the first and only subscription service for cloud-based platform games to deliver an unprecedented range of games through streaming and downloading,” Sony said in a post on the PlayStation blog.
Starting today, the PlayStation Now service will be offered at a more compelling price comparable to other entertainment streaming services in the market. Existing customers will see this new pricing during the next billing cycle. The new prices will be $ 9.99 per month, $ 24.99 per quarter, and $ 59.99 per year from ($ 19.99 per month, $ 44.99 quarterly, and $ 99.99 per year).
The company said it currently has the largest gaming library on subscription service, with more than 800 games. Also starting today, new games will be added, including the most popular games on the PlayStation 4 platform : God of War, Grand Theft Auto V, inFAMOUS Second Son, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Ends.
Sony said the games will be available from October 1, 2019 to January 2, 2020. Each month the service will add a range of games that will be available for a certain duration.
The new prices have become affordable and competitive with services like Xbox Game Pass, which are available for $ 9.99 per month.
