Huawei launched its new App Search, which aims to make it easier for users to search for applications in the absence of the Google Play store on Android phones.
The move comes in light of Huawei’s insistence to sell its devices outside China without (Google’s mobile services) GMS, in conjunction with the expansion of the number of applications available in the App Gallery store. But a large number of popular applications are still not available in the Huawei store, which forces owners of the latest Huawei phones outside China to search for alternatives.
The new AppSearch app, which was launched on the German Huawei website – is still in beta – and aims to help users find required applications on Huawei and Honor devices, without the need to install third-party app stores before downloading applications.
After searching for the desired application, the application will guide the user to an alternative application store where the application can be found, which saves users from the hassle of repeating the same search frequently. So, all apps on AppSearch are in third party stores, but the app classifies apps into categories, by region, popularity, and goal.
Now the app is based on five popular stores, like: APKMirror, APKMonk, APKPUre, Huawei AppGallery and Amazon App Store.
The new AppSearch app is available for download here.
