A hacker released the usernames and passwords of nearly 23 million players this weekend of Webkinz World, an online game for kids run by Canadian toy company Ganz.

The Webkinz game, launched in 2005, is the online counterpart to a range of Ganz plush toys. Users enter a code they find on their plush toy on the Webkinz website. They then have access to a game where they can manage their companion in the form of a virtual pet. This game is among the most popular children’s online games of the last decade, after Disney’s Club Penguin.

However, an anonymous hacker posted part of the game’s database to a well-known hacking forum. ZDNet obtained a copy of the leaked file with the help of the Under the Breach data breach monitoring service.
