Samsung has announced a new 10-watt wireless charger that fills your phone’s battery while sterilizing the device using UV light. The announcement comes at a time when people are particularly concerned about the spread of the Coruna virus.
The company says: that ultraviolet light can kill 99 percent of bacteria and germs, although marketing materials do not mention being able to kill the new coronavirus responsible for the current global epidemic.
News of the wireless charger appeared for the first time last week through the Samsung website in Thailand, but the South Korean company has now announced the product globally.
Pages of the product have now appeared in Samsung, German and Romanian Samsung stores, with the product being sold in Germany for 58.38 euros (about $ 65).
While the products you claim purify your phone and kill the virus are increasing, but from a scientific perspective, these products are not able to guarantee safety, and are not a substitute for washing your hands, wearing a mask, and monitoring social spacing.
The company said: “personal hygiene in the world today is more important than ever, and to help combat the spread of bacteria and germs, we offer a new UV sterilizer with wireless charging feature.”
The UV sterilizer was manufactured by Samsung C&T, a partner in the Samsung Mobile Accessory Partnership (SMAPP) program.
The device is available through select online stores and retail stores starting in June, to allow users to purify their smartphone, earphones and glasses in just 10 minutes, wherever you are.
Samsung has designed the device to accommodate a variety of device sizes, so that it can sterilize many of the products that you use frequently.
The UV sterilizer features a double lighting that sterilizes the upper and lower surface of the elements inside, and the device is characterized by a simple and elegant design, which allows you to store it anywhere in the home.
The device is easy to use, and comes with one button to turn the UV function on or off.
Moreover, the machine turns off automatically after 10 minutes to avoid damaging the device, and the UV sterilizer can also wirelessly charge your device at the same time.
It is noteworthy that the South Korean giant also offers a free sterilization service (Galaxy Sanitizing) through its service centers and stores in selected countries around the world, and the service relies on the use of UV light to clean the device.
