Instagram announced last week the addition of a new feature that allows users to report posts containing fake news, in an effort to eliminate false information and other violations suffered by users in the recent period.

This feature is already appearing to users in the US, and it will reach all users globally within two weeks.

Note that this feature will be available on the Instagram application on the operating systems (iOS) and (Android), but will not be available initially on the Instagram website.

Here’s how to report fake news on Instagram :

– Open the Instagram app on your phone and head to the post you want to report.
– Press the three vertical dots in the right corner of the image to open the drop-down menu.
– Select Report, then select It’s inappropriate.
– Click False information to report the post.

Facebook has 54 IFCN partners working in 42 languages, and Instagram says it wants to capture this data as “signals” from users and fact-finding auditors to train the AI model. In order to use this model in the future to reduce the reliance on the verifiers to detect false content.
