Gartner estimates that worldwide shipments of computers dropped 4.6 percent from the first quarter of 2018 to 58.5 million units in the first quarter of 2019. IDC estimates that worldwide shipments of computers declined by 3.0 percent Percent to 58.5 million units in the first quarter of 2019.

According to the market research firm IDC and Gartner, computer hardware sales have fallen again worldwide with users looking for more mobile devices. The top five vendors in the reports were HP, Lenovo, Dell, Apple and Acer.

According to Gartner, among the top six, only the top three saw gains in PC shipments, while the rest of the market retreated by 20.9 percent.

According to IDC, HP is in the lead, then Lenovo, noting that HP shipped fewer units, meaning Lenovo and Dell only achieved gains, while the remaining major companies declined, as did the rest of the market by 10.4 percent.
